APIs Mobilize's goal is to empower our next generation of leaders with the knowledge and skills to become effective leaders in the community.
The Mobilize Youth Leadership Program provides students with resources, skill-building exercises, and support networks. We help prepare students to graduate high school and become change agents in their communities.
Twenty-five junior and senior students from Los Angeles and Orange County high schools will be selected to participate in a five-week summer youth leadership program. Our summer program consists of weekly seminars that help our participants to gain leadership skills and understand the democratic process through lectures by leaders of the community, educators, elected officials, professionals, and artists.
The program workshops help students develop confidence, discipline, and skills they need to navigate through high school and prepare for graduation and college. The speakers serve as role models to students. Their success stories inspire students to move through their own pathway to success and become leaders in their communities.
Mobilize students are eligible to apply for scholarships through our API Caucus Scholar Award.
The youth leadership program is supported by:
Asian Pacific Islander School Board Members Association (APISBMA)
U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu
U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu
California State Senator Ben Allen
California State Assemblymembers:
Mike Fong and Sharon Quirk-Silva
