Mobilize College
InternshiP Program
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Applications are now closed!
Are you interested in impacting change but not quite sure which direction to take? The Mobilize College Internship Program is intended to offer Asian American Studies and Ethnic Studies students an opportunity to work as part of a legislative team on issues affecting the community. The internship will provide you with insights and hands-on experience on how changes are made legislatively, how policies are made, and how constituents' concerns are handled.

Work may include researching policy issues; writing speeches; organizing town halls and other interactions between legislators and their constituents; and responding to constituent inquiries.

Seven students will be selected to participate in an internship program with placement in a congressional or state legislative office. Some of our partners include Congresswoman Judy Chu, Congressman Ted Lieu, Assemblymembers: Ed Chau, Anthony Rendon, Sharon Quirk-Silva, and Patrick O' Donnell and Senator Ben Allen.

The students will work weekdays during business hours and there may be opportunities to attend legislative and community events.

If you're interested in learning more about this internship, feel free to contact our Associate Consultant at Yee@Lam-Consult.com

Celebration

The interns' accomplishments will be celebrated at a luncheon on August 10, 2019 in conjunction with our Mobilize Youth Leadership Program Graduation.

Inclusivity

The APIs Mobilize College Internship Program does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, age, gender, gender identity and/or expression, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or citizenship status. Given our mission, our target outreach is to students of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander descent and students who study Asian American and/or Ethnic Studies; however, we are inclusive of all students. If you are interested in learning how Asian American leaders have shaped today’s world, making a positive impact in your community, and in further developing your leadership skills, we highly encourage you to apply.

Apply by June 3, 2019!
We will review applications and accept applicants on a rolling basis.  We strongly encourage applying early.
